Jim Farley, Brandweek Magazine's Grand Marketer of the Year...

It has been my great pleasure over the past 38 months or so to work with the extremely talented individuals behind global creative and brand-engineering agency ATTIK. The benefits of working with such a remarkable company are many, and high among those is the opportunity to have participated in promoting the amazing campaign work ATTIK has delivered for their clients at Scion. When I began working with ATTIK in August of 2003, their collaborations with Jim Farley, who was then VP of Scion, were attracting worldwide attention. Today, Jim is Group Vice President of Marketing and a Corporate Officer for Toyota... and the brilliant thinking that contributed so significantly to the successful Scion launch -- and his many other notable achievements -- has led to Brandweek Magazine naming him their Grand Marketer of the Year. Congratulations Jim, on this prestigious and very well-earned accolade.

As part of their coverage, Brandweek has posted an extremely interesting video interview with Jim, where he shares many of his ideas for the challenges that Toyota -- and marketers in general -- are facing. The interview also offers us Jim's insights into how he and his colleagues are continually seeking to surprise people, to engage them locally via one-on-one marketing, and continue to innovate in engaging ways. Many thanks to Brandweek for offering this rich, close-up portrait of one of today's greatest marketers....
