Link in, turn on, and max out (your personal network)...

Those of us who have been active in high-tech business development over the past decade are very familiar with Guy Kawasaki. Guy is one of the original Apple employees responsible for the brilliant Mac marketing in the 80s, a famous business author, a renowned Silicon Valley venture capitalist and a leading pundit in the high-tech business world. The Managing Director of Garage Technology Ventures and author of the How to Change the World blog, he recently contributed a piece to the AlwaysOn Media network entitled "Ten Ways to Use LinkedIn." Considering Guy's qualifications, the subject matter should be of interest to many people; the tips he shares include a quick overview of how prestigious professionals use the essential business networking site LinkedIn -- what they use it for, and tricks for maximizing your own LinkedIn usage.

What I found to be most interesting is Guy's tip number 11, which points to a new product from the service called LinkedIn Answers, allowing us to route business-related questions to the entire LinkedIn community. I have had a LinkedIn profile for several years, and I use it to connect with folks I want to introduce myself to or keep in contact with. To me, this new tool makes the LinkedIn community -- and my network there -- extremely valuable. Thanks for the tips, Guy....
